Her book “Breaking Out of Prison: a guide to consciousness\, compassion\, and freedom” was “dedicated to my students who were my teachers.”

DESCRIPTION:On September 28 at 6:30pm\, Reuben Smith of Tumblehome Boatshop will give a presentation\nat the Bolton Historical Museum called Exquisite Boats and Boating—Boating in Style More\nThan a Century Ago.\nIn the latter part of the 19th century\, people of means began to take time away from the dirty\nindustrial cities to breathe the clean air around Lake George. While some went into the\nAdirondacks to hunt\, fish\, and spend time in the deep woods\, while others chose the more genteel\nlife offered at the resort hotels or even their own grand ‘camps’. For these folks\, going out in a\nboat was an occasion\, and judging from the photos we have\, they dressed themselves very\nnicely. They went out a-courting or went to an island to sketch\, or to play music.\nThe typical small boat was the Lake George Rowboat\, developed by creative boatbuilders\nresponding to this new form of pleasure boating. 15’ long\, and with a lovely wineglass transom\nand comfortable seatback for the passenger in the stern\, these boats were light and easy-to-\nhandle\, yet perfectly capable of excursions out on the Lake. They developed new methods for building the boats to make them even more\nspecial for the discerning buyer and to separate them from the livery boats.\nThe Boats and Boating Regatta\, last held by the Museum 2018 and scheduled again for Fall\n2024\, celebrates this era of boating in style. DESCRIPTION:Up Yonda Farm Environmental Education Center’s free “Trunk or Treat” Halloween celebration is returning this year with a variety of fun activities and at least 20 Trick-or-Treat stations for kids!\nThe annual Up Yonda “Trunk or Treat” event in Bolton has been scheduled on Saturday\, October 28th\, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. There will be plenty of goodies for costumed little ones\, as well as pumpkin decorating\, wildlife exhibitions and free books.\nDress up in your Halloween best and Trick-or-Treat among decorated vehicles\, decorate your own pumpkin\, and check out wildlife exhibitions that will include a live raptor display. This event is open to all ages.\nBolton Firemen’s Ladies Auxiliary\, Bolton Fire Company Bolton Community Church\, Bolton Emergency Medical Services\, Bolton Police Department and Bolton Central School PTO will be among the organizations that have committed to decorating vehicle trunks for treats. In addition\, the Bolton Free Library Board of Trustees will be handing out books\, Friends of Up Yonda Farm will offer pumpkin decorating and Silent Wings will bring their raptors for viewing.
